The Santa Fe Café is the home of The “Smokin’ on the Trail” Biker’s BBQ every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the months: March through October- the BBQ features Ribs, Pulled Pork and Brisket plus all the sides! Out front, on BBQ Sundays, you will see the custom built Train Smoker and can smell the delicious aromas starting early early the morning before!

On every 4th Sunday(May –October)weather permitting, the café hosts an informal Car Rally from 9am-1pm, a “Cruise-In, Cruise-Out” affair where classic cars/ motorcycles can be seen on the wide brick streets throughout the day!

EVERY Sunday morning-a Biker’s Breakfast Buffet is served until 10:30am!

A brief history:

The Café is housed in what was originally the Pioneer State Bank, founded ca1880’s. The Kansas Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps have it listed as Bank Offices in 1885.
The property is native stone and masonry, which over the years has been a number of different businesses which accounts for the lay out and remarkable architecture, including Italianate, Adobe Deco and modern block!
The owner /operator welcomes guests into her home and treats them as such!
As the constant restoration and rehabilitation to modern convenience and compliance progresses, the Santa Fe Café strives to preserve the past while looking to the future!

At present, the original flooring is being restored in the far west side which was originally “Flow & Feed Store” as well as a “Doctor’s Office” & “Milly’s Grocery” (according to the Kansas Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps)!
